With the Commonwealth Games approaching thick and fast it is brilliant to see that David Goodfield has continued an impressive year by earning himself a call up to the England squad for the upcoming games in Birmingham.
England’s group consists of Ghana, Wales, Canada, and India who are ranked 4th in the World and won bronze at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Ghana will be England’s first opposition on Friday 29th of July, with the rest of their group games running until the following Thursday. The men’s semi-finals and finals will take place from the 6th-8th of August.
With the top two teams in each group progressing to the final stages of the competition, England will fancy their chances to progress, and Goodfield will hope to continue his excellent form in England colours this year.
Club Chairman and Father Gwynne Goodfield said “I know David is very proud to be representing his country at a home Commonwealth Games, and myself and Sue can’t wait to see him in action. A few of his former teammates are going to see one of his games and I am sure that they will give him plenty of support.”
All of England and the Commonwealth Games will be shown across various BBC Sport platforms so you can catch all of the action.
