Match Report | A 14 man welcomes Cannock 2s to St Georges. Telford started well and nearly got a quick goal in the 1st 5 minutes. 2nd came mid way through the 1st half with another scramble in the D, and this time Ollie slipping the ball past the keeper. Cannock were pressing hard all games with some quality players on the pitch. Their 1st one came from a free hit 4 meters (we measured it I’m sure) from the D and the player walk in and scored. We kind of well just stood there with our tape measure, but the goal was given! They got a 2nd soon after from a PC drag flick. A nervous position to be in and we knew that Cannock could easily press us for the win. We had noticed we had been sitting back allowing us to be under the pressure too much and the 2nd half was started back to press them back into their half. And that pressure worked. In the last 10 minutes Ben Edwards made his run and calmly 1 handed reversed the ball to get the 4th goal. A strong win against a very strong Cannock side recently bolstered by a couple of players coming down from their 1s.. well done boys! |
