Telford and Wrekin Ladies won their third consecutive league game, despite once again going behind in the early stages of the game. Stratford were two goals ahead before Lorna Burns scored for the Telford side, driving in a rebound from a short corner. A reverse stick shot early in the second half by Jodie Lane drew the two sides level . From there, Telford and Wrekin dominated the games for periods of time, and took the lead through a penalty stroke converted by captain Shirley Hasenauer. A quickly taken free hit led to the fourth goal, after some skilful passing between Burns and Chez Lane with Lane firing the ball past the Stratford goalkeeper. The final goal for the Telford side came from a short corner strike by Hasenauer. After the match, Shirley Hasenauer stated ‘We have made a fantastic start to our season, securing nine points from nine in our first three games’. The team are currently top of Midlands Feeder League West, and play Stone at home on Saturday.
