Match Report | The second XI lost 3 – 1 at home to Montgomery. With a mix of youth and experience, the team played well and were level at 1 – 1 at half time after a great strike by Charlotte Machin from the edge of the ‘D’. In the second half, Montgomery increased the pressure and scored a further two goals. Telford and Wrekin were unlucky not to score, with mother and daughter Charlotte Machin and Courtney Lancaster both having shots saved by the Montgomery keeper. A very strong performance from another member of the family, Megan Lancaster, saw her rewarded with the ‘Player of the Match’ award. A huge thank you must go to team manager Jayne Parnham for stepping in to play due to an injury to Grace Flynn. The second XI team were: Lucy Worrall, Ceri Russell, Lianne Wright, Ellen Brown, Jayne Parnham, Megan Lancaster, Courtney Lancaster, Sarah McKaig, Charlotte Machin, Regina Sherwood, Megan Peace, Grace Flynn. |
