Match Report

The last game for the ladies 3s for this season. To say I am proud of the girls would be a total understatement. Not only have I witnessed some great hockey both in training and on the pitch but watched the whole team come together and welcome in new members to this little family we have created.

In terms of this game, this was a great game to finish, an excellent display of hockey during open play and short corners. Implementing crucial practice learnt in training into the game was very impressive. Perseverance through this game and throughout the season has been something we have really had to work on as a team, and I can definitely say that we are better - not fully there yet, but we areĀ better. Man of the match is Katie Rushton, Katie has been man of the match before and today was no different. She works hard every game, always is looking to do better and generally is a happy person who brings the calm! Myself and the girls agree that Katie is one of the loveliest players on the pitch, so much so a player from the opposition fell over her own feet and she proceeded to help them up. Katie is the perfect balance of competitive and kindness. No one could have been a better choice. Well done Katie.

I have had the pleasure of being captain of this team for 2 seasons now and I couldn't have captained a better groups of girls, they are a pleasure to coach. I would say they are a pleasure to play with, but I havent played this season. LOL. Next season is my season I know it!

Well done girls, very proud x
