Match Report

Telford Ladies 1s travelled far far away to Leicester in the early hours of Saturday morning for a tough game against Leicester City.  With a couple of key players of their solid onion like team missing they knew it was going to be a tough game.

With Telford holding most of the possession for the most part of the first half, a detrimental break through from the opposition lead to them entering the dungeon, and Charlotte Eyre, the dragon slayer took to the ground to save the shot, however a goal was sadly conceded. Telford had a few near misses in the attacking D, with some great efforts by Lorna Burns.

Telford continued to battle on, determined to get even, with some fantastic tackling and skills. Izzy moore wowed the team with her ability to calmly tear down the oppositions play. At half time, Telford’s noble steed, Gary, told the team to shine their shoes and wipe their…face, as the battle is far from over. After a quick waffle break the ladies got back out there to continue fighting.

Telford held some brilliant play throughout. A few mis haps lead to a strong ball across the D where a fierce Ogre managed to get the right touch to put it in the goal. Courtney Lancaster roared with anger. Encouragement was given to one another to increase moral, because that’s what friends do, they forgive each other!!!

Telford Ladies may have been defeated 2-0 this time, but hold their heads high, they left it all out on the swamp & that’ll do.
