| Match Report | Telford W1s hosted Harborne on home turf at the swamp on Saturday. As soon as the whistle went Telford were keen to get going resulting in a short within the first 2 minutes. Snow White (Katherine Sinclair) took the strike where it magically hit a foot on the line. Donkey (Chez Lane) placed the flick in the bottom left corner, where the girls cheered, ‘that’ll do donkey, that’ll do’. Telford now 1-0 up caused an increase in competitiveness with both sides exchanging chances. Pinocchio (Charlotte Eyre) put in some great saves but unfortunately, Harborne scored a great short corner off a deflection. After both teams created chances our Gingerbread man (Lorna Burns) took a shot heading for the top corner which got tapped by one of our sticks leaving the score as 1-1 at halftime. Shrek (Gary Stacey) gave us a talking-to and told us to grab our torches and pitchforks once again. The second half included plenty more half-chances and PCs but both teams failed to find that winning goal. Finally, Merlin (Kate Le Cocq) had a close chance at scoring however we ended the game at 1-1. A well-deserved Man of the Match went to Pinocchio (Charlotte Eyre) for making some amazing saves. On the 25th of February, we will be flying far far away to play Solihull Blossomfield. |
