Match Report Table-topping Uttoxeter crashed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Telford and Wrekin at the weekend, with Telford playing some of their best hockey of the season. The game was very evenly poised in the first half, with chances at both ends but with neither side finding the back of the goal. Telford and Wrekin took the lead in the second half after Lorna Burns blasted the ball past the Uttoxeter keeper. However, Uttoxeter equalised soon afterwards and continued to press forwards. A number of crucial saves from goalkeeper Amanda Bailey kept Telford and Wrekin in the game. Telford eased their way back into the game and into the lead with a clinical strike from the top of the D by Lorna Burns. From this point on Telford and Wrekin started to dominate the game and limit the Uttoxeter chances. The third goal came after a move intiated by Sandra Pattinson which saw the ball worked through the defence by Sue Hughes and Chez Lane. It was Lane who completed the scoring after a reverse shot from Rachael Howells came back out to Lane, who lifted the ball past the keeper and into the net. Player of the Match was shared between Lorna Burns and Sandra Pattinson.
