Match Report |
The ladies slipped to fifth in the Midlands Feeder West League after their second consecutive defeat, losing 2-1 at home to Edgbaston. The two teams were evenly matched but it was Edgbaston who led 1-0 at half time after a ball across the D was slotted into the goal by an unmarked player. They came close on a number of occasions, with Lorna Burns unlucky not to score after rounding the keeper, only to see her shot go wide of the post. Edgbaston added a second goal before Sue Hughes converted a penalty stroke for the home side, giving them some hope of rescuing a point. However, it was too little too late with the result leaving the home side feeling frustrated. One positive point was the welcome return of Chez Lane to the team, less than a month after having a baby!!
The first XI team was: Amanda Bailey (Muppet), Shirley Hasenauer, Karen Jackson, Sandra Pattinson, Becky Wealthall, Courtney Lancaster, Sue Hughes, Rachel Howells, Rachel Evans, Guayarmina Molyneux, Anna Jones, Lorna Burns, Jodie Lane, Chez Lane. |
