Match Report | Ladies where on fine form continued when they beat Old Silhilians 7 – 2. The side dominated the game, and held a 3-1 at half time. The first half goals came from Jodie Lane, a Sue Hughes short corner strike, and a great individual goal from Rachel Howells. The team continued to dominate in the second half, increasing the lead through a deflected goal from Lorna Burns and a second for Rachel Howells. Old Sils then added their second goal after we failed to clear our lines . The sixth goal for the home side came when Sue Hughes converted a penalty stroke, awarded after Lorna Burns was brought down in the D. Anna Jones, who worked hard throughout the game, added the final goal when she swept in a cross from Player of the Match Sue Hughes. Captain Shirley Hasenauer said ‘It was a great team effort. We controlled the game and played a lot of attacking hockey. Although we scored seven goals, we also had a number of unconverted chances.’ The win has taken the team to second in the league table.
