Women's 2nd XI - Shropshire

the 2nd XI competed in the County tournament.  The side made a good start with a 1-1 draw against Wem.  The goalscorer was Charlotte Machin, who was unlucky not to add to her tally in the games that followed. The team drew 0-0 draw with Montgomery, lost 1-0 to Shrewsbury II, Shrewsbury III and Market Drayton, and lost 4-0 to Bridgnorth II.  There were some very strong performances from the  defence, with Lianne Wright and Lara Ogundipe deserving a special mention.

Team manager Jayne Parnham said ‘ All in all it was a good day.  It was a victory for the youngsters, some of whom were playing their first senior competitive game for the club. They made a very promising start to their hockey careers’.
