Men's 5th XI Vs Leek 6

With the Christmas break behind us and games postponed elsewhere to the weather, the 5ths took to the pitch keen to get going again.

With Will returning after working away and a selection meeting where we initilally had 18 players available, it was strange to see a match squad down to 13. A defensive slip up in the first minute gave Leek an opportunity they weren't going to squander. Telford then got themselves sorted and started to play the style of hockey they know they ae capable of. 

Chances came and went at both ends throughout the rest of the first half before a slick move created by John through the midfield led to the ball going out wide left. Sam and Will created a little space before moving the ball back to John, whose far post pass found Harvey to slot home an equalizer.

Leek then stepped up the pressure but where hed at bay until converting from a well struck penalty corner. With 20 minutes still to go the traffic was all one way as Telford looked for the equalizer. Unfortunately, it wasn't to come and Leek ran out 2-1 victors in front of a good home crowd.

It's great to see the progress the team are contiuing to make and all boads well for the rest of the season.
