Men's 5th XI Vs Stone 4

The men's 5ths went off to Stone determined to make up for last week's result. Unfortunately, a goalkeeper shortage resulted in a rare guest appearance from Chris who found that Stone liked to shoot directly at him when he was set up for a shot to either side. Although 3-0 down at the break, it was clear that Telford were building themselves into the game. The midfield trio of Luke, Josh and Abraham worked well togetehr and let Stone realise that they were in a game. The Stone keeper was being worked hard and had a cracker of a game before Abarham dumied his own shot. The Stone keeper went to ground and Abraham cooly took it around him before slotting home to score his first of the season and pick up the man of the match award. Drew, Will and Sam worked well to cut off the threat from the wings and Harvey and Ewan continued to be a threat up front. Alan let the Stone attack know that he was there to be pushed around and they will be a little more cautious when they come across him again. Jerry and Paul were solid in defence and looked like they had played together for years. Although Stone won 6-1 the game seemed to be a lot closer.

Next week sees the 4ths take on the 5ths at Telford!
