Match Report

As the new season started, Telford 5ths team were reborn and took to the field aginst another new team - Leek 6ths. The new team started to get used to playing alongside each other and, before long, were playing as if they were regular team mates. Leek were also finding their feet, but quite clearly had players with more recent experience at a higher level hockey. In large parts of the game, both teams cancelled eachother out, however, Leek started to get a grip on the game. A number of umpiring decisions didn't go Telford's way, but the team stuck at it and were rewarded with a goal when Pip slotted the ball through to Josh who tucked it away nicely.

As the game progressed, frustration at some of the umpiring decisions led to Pip being introduced to the naughty step. Luke, Abraham and Leo all played well and are quite clearly Telford starts of the future; Luke picking up the man of the match award.

Leek picked up a couple of goals to run out winners, but the 5ths have shown that they are ready and willing to take on anyone in this league.
