| Match Report | Telford 4ths took to the pitch against Newport 2nds full of optimism for the new season. The core of last seasons team remained with the inclusion of a couple of less familiar faces. In what turned out to be a frustrating game for both sides, what few chances that were created just weren't put away with the clinical precsion that we are used to. With Newport 1st not having a fixture this week, their 2nds were quite clearly 'beefed up' by a couple of players moving across to support their club mates. One of the few highlights of the match was the inclusion of Josh Sykes to the squad. His pace and skill on the ball, after stepping up from junior hockey, earnt him praise from his team mates and the man of the match award. Onwards to Stafford next Saturday. Let's hope for our first 3 points. |
