Match Report | Telford 3's welcomed promotion rivals Barford Tigers 3's to St. George's for a 1 o'clock push back. The 3's welcomed Luke Oldham to the 13 man squad for the game, with Raj taking the captains armband. Telford started the game strongly, keeping the ball and moving it around well. The first goal of the game came when Sammy got the ball to Matt in the 'D' who flicked the ball over the keepers pad to make the score 1-0 to Telford! A second goal came quickly afterwards, with a good passing move up the pitch got the ball to Sahib, who put the ball in to set Matt up with his second, which he dispatched through the keepers legs! 2-0 Telford! The half time whistle came with Telford still 2-0 up, but the game becoming more alive. The team decided to change formation slightly, with one of the strikers coming deeper into the midfield to try and slow down Barford's midfield trio. The second half was a close game, with both teams having good chances to score, but defences and keepers were having a strong game. However it was Telford who grabbed the next goal of the game, with Ben Stevens being released by the midfield with his shot saved by the keeper, but it fell to Matt Fennell-Fox who calmly slotted home with third goal of the game! 3-0 Telford!! Barford started the apply more pressure to Telford, but the defence stood strong, until an error let Barford grab a consolation goal, but ultimately it was Telford who ran out as 3-1 winners. The results keeps us second in the league, with next weeks game being a late pushback away to league leaders Leek 3's. |
