Match Report

After a 16 man squad last week the captain was wondering how to managed his subs again for this week, but alas, during the week one by one the messages filtered through of unavailability and by Saturday morning I was down to 10...

With half a mind I was hoping the Roman road pitch would be frozen off, but with a 2pm start it was looking very unlikely to happen..
Today was cold, I mean bloody cold so midfull everyone had 24 minutes off on the bench last week, I did not think anybody would like to be rotated so opted to go with 11 players thanks to James Steven coming over to sit up front for us. A good run out will keep us warm!

Shrewsbury with their 1st loss last week would be a strong side to battle against. Either way, Telford started playing our own game. and we battled through the first 15 minutes of defending and then got going in the atacking direction. Notable mention of Brad padding away a strong PC flick.

I think the cold may have interfeared as we struggled to pick up the ball from passes or we got trapped a little too easily.

Half time and a credible 0-0

Team talk was positive and keep the pressure on Shrewsbury we could get the goals!

In the 2nds half Telford was still going strong. About 10 minutes in a free hit to them in the middle of the pitch got Shrewsbury overloading us and they grabbed a goal as the ball. 2 minutes after another one was grabbed which got energy into them.
Unfazed Telford pushed on. Shrewsburys grabbed a quick 3rd goal thanks to the Captains failure of a poor pass (the cold effected me i'm sure) 3-0 down!

This years Telford team are excellent bunch and we kept our heads high and pushed. Short Corner awarded. Ben Stevens call it!
A drag from Ben was stopped by a keeper on the ground, only for Captain Chris N to punch the ball over the keeper and into the nett! Goal 3-1.

2nd goal came from another short corner, this time a short push out to Chris N, who caught out the Shrewsbury defence and the ball was hit home onto the boards!  Goal  3-2

Energy remaining high we pushed to get more goals, Ben Edwards with the highest chance but he reverse went wide!

Games ended 3-2 to Shrewsbury.. A huge shame to not get back and grab a point off them, but it was just not to be.
