Men's 3rd XI Vs Barford Tigers 3

The Mens 3s headed off to Barford Tigers with good energy from recent good form of play. 

Barford have been having a good season themselves so lots of word of caution to our players to make sure we played our game, and try to keep the Barford players away from the ball. 

1st ten minutes and we were pushing hard into their 25 with good linking play. The Barford defence playing very well stopping any hits in their stride and clearing the ball very well. 

Telford had chances in front of the goal, but could not get the ball over the line! 

A slip in midfield and defence allowed a Barford player to be on the top of the D on his own and a flat reverse into the corner of the gaol had Brad beaten!. 

Another poor overturn and slip in marking got Barford their 2nd before the half time. 

Captains talk was reminding the players about keeping the ball away from the reach of the defenders and keeping our heads up. We could have this game if we get our goals and no get upset with our own play! 

2nd half got on the way with Telford pushing hard with good linking play and Ollie pressing hard down the right and moving ther ball onwards but we could just not convert our chances when presented to us!

A failed short corner got a counter attack from Barford who just caught us all out poorly and gave Brad a 2 on 1 issue, which Barford duly scored! 3-1

In the last 15 minutes, Glyn with his new stick fired a goal home from the edge of the D after some good linking play Telford have been used to over the last few weeks. 

The game played out to a 3-1 loss. 

On reflection, this could of been a draw, even a win maybe at a push.. we have to get these goals in boys when the opportunity presents itself!
