Men's 3rd XI Vs Cannock 2

A very early alarm call for all the 3rd team as we headed off to Cannock for a 10am start. 

Cannock 2s are a side that were relegated several divisions a few years ago and are on there way back up. Knowing this we expected a tough game.

The game started with annock pressing in our half for the first ten minutes and telford struggling to get moving. Eventually we settled down and completing some good passing moves from defence to midfield, and then the midfield releasing the forwards. 
Ball shooting across the goal mouth but our forwards were just struggling to get their stick to the end of it and convert any chances. 

A Short Corner was award to Telford and Scotty calmly slotted the ball down the left hand side. Goal! Telford 1-0

Cannock then cam back to make it 2-1 to the hosts. 

We scrambled to get another goal as Matt F-Fox passed the ball to Ben Stevens who swepted it in under the keepers pads to make it 2-2! Could we hold our game?

Then followed several minutes of lack of concentration and simply some poor passing that gave Cannock the edge to attack and grab their goals in quick sucession to make a lead of 3 goals past our reach.

The game ended 5-2 and we enjoyed a pre-midday beer wirh chilli and rice at the local pub with the opposition. 

To be honest, we knew the opposition would be strong league promotion challengers, but we came off that pitch dissapointed with the score. It so could of been a 5-5 thriller! Maybe the win? 

Telford need to get the goals as the opportunities turn up in the D, we failed to grab that this weekend!
