Match Report | A rude awakening awaited the 2nd XI away to Finchfield 2s after the highs of the promotion securing win last week. Despite scoring the first with a poachers finish from Tom Bullock, Finchfield began piling on the pressure. The Telford back line struggled to deal with the high press resulting in a number of turnovers in their own half which Finchfield capatalized on, bringing the score to 3-1 to the home side, aided by some contentious decisions. Telford were able to bring it back to 3-2 with a glimpse of the usual Telford style hockey resulting in nice finish by Tom Jones on the reverse having been set up by Jorge Hadley-Moore. Just before half time Telford had the chance to bring it level with a penalty flick, but was saved with the keeper getting down quick enough to cover the bottom corner. The second half offered very little with the opposition and umpiring continuing to rattle everyone, with a yellow card for Will Lorenz as well as a penalty flick for Finchfield which was saved by NC. Unfortunately this frustration cost Telford, conceding another goal with no answers at the other end. All in all, a disappointing outing for Telford with a lot of things to consider from this loss Goals: TB, TJ MOM - MHM |
