Match Report | Telford & Wrekin Ladies 1s continued their winning ways with a 2-1 win over Solihull Blossomfield 1s. The visitors took a first half lead when a penalty direct strike from the top of the circle found its way into the bottom corner. Despite extensive pressure from Telford it remained 1-0 to Solihull at half time. Harsh words were exchanged during the interval & it saw Telford come out for the second half determined to perform better. Ten minutes into the second half Kathryn Sinclair dispatched a penalty corner into the bottom corner for her sixth league goal of the season & to bring the game back to parity. As the visitors tired Telford continued to control possession but lacked the final ball. With quarter of an hour remaining Meg Pennell forced her way into the circle only to see the goalkeeper make a save but the rebound fell to Lorna Burns who smashed the ball home to give Telford the lead. Despite more pressure Telford couldn’t add to their goal tally & saw out a lacklustre victory. |
